The fear was that AI would replace the work. What actually happened is that it moved the work — from execution toward direction.

Taste is the bottleneck now

Tools can generate options endlessly. What they can’t do is decide which option is right for this client, this audience, this moment. That judgment — knowing what to keep, what to cut, and why — is the part that still has to come from a person who’s done the work.

I use AI to move faster through the parts that used to be slow, so I can spend more time on the parts that actually decide whether a project lands: strategy, story, and the thousand small calls that add up to something that feels intentional.
